419 “Moose” squadron was based at CFB Cold Lake and was the training squadron tasked with teaching fast jet pilots to employ there aircraft more tactically. In 2024 the squadron was disbanded and all training for fast jet pilots is currently done at the euro nato joint jet pilot (ENJJPT) training base in the US, Italy and Finland. Previously operating the Canadair CF-5 Tiger, they used the BAE systems Hawk CT-155 (equivalent to the T2 Hawk operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF).
